Increase in Pre-Arrival Customs Clearance Transactions

Recently, it was announced that for the customs operations carried out before the arrival of cargoes across the border from the UAE, 85% of the total number of registered declarations for export were made, which indicates an increase compared to the previous year, when this figure was 67%. At the same time, the share of imported cargoes was 60% of the total number of declarations for imports, which is also higher than in 2023 - 31%. Customs representatives in Abu Dhabi noted that in 2024, the number of customs procedures carried out before cargo arrivals increased to 72%, which is significantly higher than in 2023 (53%). Thus, there is a significant increase compared to the previous period, when this figure was 47% in various customs points of Abu Dhabi Emirate. Operations aimed at improving service quality and streamlining processes are central to the increase in the share of customs operations before cargo arrivals in 2024. Thus, maintaining the development level and enhancement plays a key role in increasing the efficiency of customs control.
