The Assistant Under-Secretary for the Industrial Accelerators Sector at the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, Osama Amir Fadel, confirmed that industry is one of the key sectors supporting the achievement of climate neutrality goals by 2050, enhancing sustainability pathways, and reducing carbon emissions in the UAE.
On the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026 events, he stated that the ministry's participation in the event is through the 'Make it in the Emirates' platform. He pointed out that the industrial sector, with its diverse capabilities in heavy industries or sectors focused on artificial intelligence, automation, and advanced technological solutions, actively contributes to reducing costs, increasing efficiency, and lowering emissions.
He invited investors and local and international companies seeking genuine investment opportunities in the region to participate in the fifth edition of the 'Make it in the Emirates' platform, which will be held from May 4 to 7, 2026, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).
He explained that the 'Make it in the Emirates 2026' platform will provide a comprehensive package of enablers, incentives, investment opportunities, and financing sources, in addition to opportunities for international partnerships that allow companies to launch from the UAE to markets exceeding a population of 3 billion worldwide.
He clarified that the ministry, within its commitment to supporting sustainability pathways, accelerating the transition to a green economy, and enhancing the UAE's position as a global hub for future industries, focuses on strengthening integration with its strategic partners from government and private sectors, contributing to increasing industrial productivity and competitiveness in line with the wise leadership's directives aimed at boosting industrial growth and increasing the sector's contribution to the GDP to achieve the 'Make it in the Emirates' targets.
He noted that the ministry is building a competitive, flexible, and future-ready industrial ecosystem that provides an enabling and supportive environment for investors and companies through the National Content Program and integrating Fourth Industrial Revolution solutions through technology transformation programs, which enhances industrial process efficiency and increases the added value of national products.
He added that continuous efforts have accelerated the pace of industrial growth by enabling companies to localize advanced manufacturing, adopt artificial intelligence technologies, strengthen national supply chains, and support and empower Emirati talent and solidify their presence across various industrial sectors.
