In 2024, the countries of the Persian Gulf continued to invest in large infrastructure projects, seeing them as a significant contribution to the future of the state and a positive impact on the economy in general, helping to develop and attract foreign investments, as well as contributing to the diversification of the economy and achieving welfare for the population.

The goal of these investments is long-term economic planning, far from oil dependence, partly diversifying sectors of the economy, such as industry, tourism, transport, logistics, and other critically important sectors. These efforts are aimed at creating new sources of revenue, as well as building sustainable habitats and modern social structures.

The "Interregional" report from Abu Dhabi highlights that the UAE continues to allocate significant resources to infrastructure in such key areas as aviation, manufacturing, ports, logistics, and information-communication technologies. The Emirates focus on the renewal of infrastructure in areas such as public transport, digital technologies, and communication networks.

We are talking about huge expenditures to improve digital services, healthcare, education, and transportation infrastructure in the UAE. In 2024, the United Arab Emirates allocated approximately 4% of the total federal budget for investment in infrastructure and economic resources, with a total budget of 64 billion dirhams for the first year of its 2024-2026 plan. The new budget plan represents a step towards strengthening sustainable development and the economic base of the state, with a primary focus on social development and the rule of law, which received 42% and 39% of the budget, respectively.

In 2024, the United Arab Emirates continued to concentrate on projects aimed at improving the quality of life and achieving sustainable development. In Abu Dhabi, the Department of Municipalities and Transport announced allocations amounting to 66 billion dirhams for 144 projects, including housing, public amenities, education, and tourism.
