The Al-Wathba region in Abu Dhabi is preparing to host one of the largest New Year's celebrations in the United Arab Emirates and the region, as the Higher Organizing Committee of the Sheikh Zayed Festival continues to put the final touches on an exceptional celebratory program that combines massive fireworks displays lasting over an hour, and the world's largest drone shows. Alongside these, the festival will feature heritage and cultural activities with the participation of country pavilions, sponsors, and strategic partners, which enhances the festival's status as a global platform for celebration and cultural convergence.
The festival will present an unprecedented fireworks display attempting to set five new Guinness World Records, spread across five timed phases throughout New Year's Eve, beginning at 8:00 PM and peaking at midnight with the main show extending for a continuous 62 minutes.
The shows rely on the latest launch and visual synchronization technologies, presenting a spectacular scene that covers the Al-Wathba sky on a vast scale.
Festival-goers can expect a massive drone show featuring 6500 drones in a single 20-minute flight, forming nine giant artistic masterpieces being shown for the first time worldwide. These will integrate with the digital countdown and fireworks in a single visual scene, reflecting the festival's evolution in employing modern technology in major entertainment shows.
In addition to the major aerial displays, the festival grounds will host traditional Emirati performances including Al Ayala, Al Razfa, and Al Nadba, with hundreds of performers, as well as shows from international troupes. Furthermore, the participating countries' pavilions will offer a variety of carnival and musical performances.
