Abu Dhabi's heritage and gaming authorities launched the 'Heritage Gameathon' to develop digital games in a traditional style. Participants create Emirati heritage-inspired video games for a prize pool of 100,000 AED.

Abu Dhabi, UAE — The Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture & Tourism, in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Gaming & Esports, yesterday launched the 'Heritage Gameathon' initiative. It aims to develop digital games in a traditional style. Under the slogan 'Desert Vision', participants will engage in a creative challenge until January 11 at the Authority's premises in Abu Dhabi. They will blend the essence of the past with cutting-edge future technologies to design video games inspired by Emirati heritage. The initiative seeks to nurture talent and provide a practical experience that merges heritage with modern technologies, with a total prize value of 100,000 AED.
