Ahmed Alsayed Mohamed Alsheebani, who serves as the Acting Regulatory Affairs Petroleum Product Sector Executive Director at the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE), announced the launch of the LPG Safety Campaign. This campaign is designed to enhance safety practices, particularly during the month of Ramadan, when the usage of gas in kitchens typically sees a surge.
Alsheebani emphasized that the primary goal of the campaign is to instill a culture of safety among individuals, thereby positively influencing overall public safety standards.
The initiative, titled 'Your Safety is Our Priority', aims to educate both citizens and residents across the Emirate on the safe usage of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). It underscores the critical importance of following proper safety protocols concerning LPG systems, especially as cooking activities escalate during Ramadan in households, restaurants, and other culinary settings.
In particular, the campaign targets specific groups that interact with LPG systems regularly. This includes employers responsible for training employees in areas such as cafeterias, restaurants, and laborers, as well as domestic workers and agencies engaged in labor recruitment and deployment.
Dr. Saif Saeed Al Qubaisi, the Acting Director General of Regulatory Affairs at the DoE, highlighted that the campaign aligns with the organization's broader mission of fostering a sustainable and efficient energy sector. This concerted effort towards promoting safety and awareness underscores the commitment to ensuring a secure environment for all individuals involved in utilizing LPG systems.
Moreover, the campaign seeks to empower individuals at various levels, from industry professionals to the general public, to prioritize safety measures when handling LPG. As the holy month approaches, the initiative serves as a proactive step in enhancing community-wide safety practices and overall well-being.
