In Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Emirates Ophthalmology Society and the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. The signing ceremony, held at the institute's headquarters, aims to enhance cooperation in the fields of ophthalmology education, scientific research, and the development of clinical standards in the UAE. The agreement goes beyond organizing scientific conferences to include joint work on exchanging best practices, implementing community awareness campaigns, and providing educational and training opportunities for Emirati students and residents to interact with the faculty and global resources of the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. A joint working team from both sides will oversee the implementation of the MoU's provisions to ensure tangible results that support the development of eye care services in the country.
