Abu Dhabi Launches Early Cancer Detection Program

Launched by the Department of Health Abu Dhabi and the Abu Dhabi Public Health Center, a new program for the early detection of risk factors for several types of cancer is the first of its kind in the region. It contributes to Abu Dhabi's preventive approach by improving the chances of early cancer diagnosis, thereby enhancing the health and safety of the community and improving quality of life. The program is available to "Tawam" cardholders aged 40 and over, who can benefit from advanced technologies for early cancer detection. It is added to existing screening programs and enables the detection of pancreatic, liver, and brain cancers, which are often diagnosed at late stages. The program is conducted through a multi-cancer early detection (MCED) blood test.
