Abu Dhabi Concludes 'Safety in Heat' Campaign

The Department of Energy (DoE) in Abu Dhabi has wrapped up its “Safety in Heat” campaign to evaluate companies' adherence to the midday work ban during the summer months. The ban, which lasted from June 15 to September 15, prohibited working under direct sunlight in open areas between 12:30pm and 3pm. The DoE’s Health, Safety, and Environment Department conducted visits to work sites in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain to educate workers, supervisors, and employers on the significance of following safety practices to ensure the well-being of workers and compliance with environmental regulations during the ban period.

The campaign included 2,139 internal workshops and 5,056 awareness visits, reaching out to 37,759 workers. Moreover, 7,276 informational brochures were handed out to workers at different locations. To further raise awareness, more than 3,800 messages were shared through social media platforms, videos, text messages, and emails, reaching 40,828 workers. The state news agency WAM mentioned that despite conducting 3,943 safety standard inspection visits, no violations were reported.
