In 2025, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center in Abu Dhabi welcomed a record 6.8 million visitors. The mosque has solidified its status as a global hub for culture, religion, and tourism, attracting guests from around the world and fostering intercivilizational dialogue.


Record Number of Visitors at Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

In 2025, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center in Abu Dhabi welcomed 6,846,723 visitors, marking a 4% increase compared to 2024 and setting a record in its history. The total number of worshippers reached 1,531,192, including 257,859 who performed Friday prayers, 697,961 who performed daily prayers, and 575,372 who observed Ramadan and Eid prayers. The number of iftar meals served was 898,767, and the total number of visitors reached 4,331,046. Additionally, 85,718 people used the mosque's walking track. 82% of the visitors came from outside the country, while 18% were UAE residents. By continent, Asia led with 49% of guests, followed by Europe (33%), North America (11%), Africa and South America (3% each), and Australia (1%). In terms of countries, India ranked first with 20%, followed by China (9%), Russia and the USA (8% each), Germany, the UK, France, and Italy (3% each), and the Philippines and Pakistan (2% each). As part of cultural tours led by the center's specialists, 55,730 people participated, with 4,031 tours conducted. The center also hosted 21,988 people from official delegations, accounting for 1,564 bookings. Among the guests were 335 high-level delegations, including 9 heads of state, vice-presidents, 4 state governors, a vice-governor, 8 sheikhs and princes, 12 prime ministers and deputy prime ministers, 6 speakers of parliaments, a deputy speaker, 78 ministers, 25 deputy ministers, 51 ambassadors and consuls, 3 charge d'affaires, as well as religious and military delegations. During Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, the mosque's total number of guests reached 1,890,144. During this period, 594,236 people prayed in the mosque, including 193,435 who performed Isha and Taraweeh prayers, and 195,987 who performed Tahajjud prayer. On the night of the 27th day of Ramadan, 72,533 people prayed, and 26,025 prayed on Eid al-Fitr. The number of visitors during this period was 391,011. During the Eid al-Fitr holiday, the total number of guests reached 122,819 (57,629 worshippers and 64,959 visitors), a 10% increase compared to 1445 AH. Under the "Our Fasting Guests" project, the center, with the support of the "Zayed Humanitarian Foundation" and in partnership with "Erth Hotel", distributed 2,625,568 iftar and suhoor meals, including 898,767 at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, 442,345 at the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Grand Mosque in Al Ain, 1,160,000 in labor cities in Abu Dhabi, 105,935 in various areas of the emirate, and 19,000 suhoor meals in the last ten days of Ramadan. Throughout the year, the center continued to enhance the guest experience by developing cultural tours and diverse services, such as the "Mosque Bazaar". It strengthened its cultural presence locally and globally through initiatives like the "Minarets of Two Capitals" in Moscow as part of the "Bridges" program, participation in the "St. Petersburg International Interreligious Forum", and cultural projects such as the "Nour and Salam" museum, which attracted 47,266 visitors, and the "Dhia" experience with 45,699 visitors. The mosque's library received 5,930 visitors. The center also organized several cultural events, including the "Boundless Plains" exhibition from Australia and the "Memory of a Place" exhibition in collaboration with the National Archives and Library. It held 16 cultural workshops, in which 14 schools and 331 students participated. The center continued its efforts in religious and cultural education, releasing 330 episodes across 12 educational series. It also launched the audiobook version of the book "Houses of Allah: From the Great Mosque of Kairouan to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque" and its translation into Spanish, French, and Chinese. As part of the "Hijri Calendar" project, the center enriched the content of the 1447 AH edition based on scientific, religious, and astronomical foundations. In 2025, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center also recorded a significant increase in the number of guests at its affiliated mosques. The Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Grand Mosque in Al Ain welcomed 1,032,320 visitors, a 95% increase compared to 2024. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Fujairah received 660,110 visitors, a 10% increase from the previous year. The number of worshippers at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Ras Al Khaimah reached 147,348, a 35% increase compared to 2024. These figures reflect the growing popularity of these religious and cultural sites and their increasing role in serving guests from diverse cultures. The statistics affirm the status of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque as one of the world's leading religious, cultural, and tourist destinations. It plays a key role in enhancing the cultural and tourist activity in Abu Dhabi by attracting millions of visitors annually, reinforcing the capital's position as a global platform for intercivilizational dialogue and tolerance. In line with its continuous efforts to improve the guest experience and expand its global reach, the center achieved high rankings on TripAdvisor's list of the world's best cultural and historical attractions, ranking 8th globally among the top 25 destinations, moving up two places from the previous year, while maintaining its first place in the Middle East among the top ten landmarks.
