Court Upholds Sentences in Terrorism Case

53 individuals, including leaders and members of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood organization and six companies, have been convicted in a case involving charges of collaborating with and funding the terrorist "Reform Call" (Da'wat Al-Islah) Organization. The verdict was issued by the Abu Dhabi Federal Court of Appeals – State Security Chamber, with penalties ranging from life imprisonment to a fine of AED20 million.

The State Security Chamber of the Federal Supreme Court has rejected appeals from the convicted individuals in the case, known as the "Terrorist Justice and Dignity Organization" case. The ruling resulted in 53 convictions, while the court postponed its decision on appeals filed by the Public Prosecutor to 8th April.

The Public Prosecutor had filed an appeal concerning a portion of the ruling related to the expiration of the criminal case for 24 defendants. The State Security Chamber has decided to register the appeal separately and deferred its consideration to the mentioned date. The defendants were convicted in Case No.452 of 2023, with a total of 59 individuals involved in the legal proceedings.

In response to the recent developments, a spokesperson from the State Security Chamber stated: "The ruling reflects our commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring the safety and security of the nation. We stand firm in our resolve to uphold the law and bring justice to those who seek to harm our society."
