An annual AI dialogue in Abu Dhabi brought together global experts, tech leaders, and academics to discuss technological diplomacy, geopolitics, and soft power in the region.


AI Dialogue Held in Abu Dhabi

The second annual 'Trends Research and Consulting Center' dialogue on artificial intelligence, in strategic partnership with the Cybersecurity Council and 23 partner organizations, was held under the theme: 'Technological Diplomacy in the Middle East and North Africa'. The event brought together researchers and experts from the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), along with speakers from Google, OpenAI, G42, GC REAIM, Khalifa University, Mohamed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence, Mohamed bin Zayed University for Humanities and New York University Abu Dhabi, and other scientific and academic institutions. The 'Trends AI Dialogue' will address key issues concerning the latest developments in artificial intelligence and technological diplomacy through three main sessions, bringing together a select group of experts, policymakers, and academics from around the world. The first session, titled 'Fostering Progress: A New Era of US-Gulf Partnerships,' will explore opportunities for strategic cooperation between the two sides in innovation and advanced technology, and the role of AI in driving future partnerships. The second session will address 'The Geopolitical Dimensions of Artificial Intelligence,' highlighting the implications of technological developments on the global balance of power and the impact of AI on international relations and policy-making. The third session, 'Soft Power through Artificial Intelligence and Digital Infrastructure,' will focus on how to leverage smart technologies to enhance the positive image of nations, build bridges of civilizational communication, and achieve sustainable development. The 'Trends' AI Dialogue will conclude with a closing speech summarizing the key ideas and recommendations reached to support research and cooperation in the field of AI at regional and international levels. The participation of researchers from CSIS, one of the most powerful American think tanks and ranked first globally in defense and national security, adds momentum and richness to the dialogue. The second annual AI Dialogue, organized by the Trends Research and Consulting Center, has 24 strategic partnerships, bringing together elite institutions from the private, public, and international sectors. The Cybersecurity Council served as the conference's strategic partner, while G42 was the AI strategic partner. The dialogue also includes a group of technology partners from both private and global sectors, including CrowdStrike, Microsoft, the US-UAE Business Council, Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, and Accenture. The event also involves a number of academic partners: United Arab Emirates University, Rabdan Academy, Mohamed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence, Mohamed bin Zayed University for Humanities, Khalifa University, and Higher Colleges of Technology, enhancing the integration of scientific research and practical application in advanced technology. On the media front, the event is supported by a group of prominent media partners: Emirates News Agency (WAM), Sky News Arabia, CNN Business, The National newspaper, Lebanese newspaper An-Nahar, Gulf News, Global Advisors Communications, Chinese-Arab TV, Big Asia Media, and Viory Media.
