The UAE Wrestling Federation announces a new strategy aimed at elevating wrestling locally and internationally. This includes competitive championships and community involvement, launching the Emirates Wrestling Federation Cup in February.


UAE Wrestling Federation Unveils New Strategy

The UAE Wrestling Federation announced its new strategy aimed at enhancing the sport of wrestling at local and international levels. The goal of this strategy is to strengthen the position of Emirati wrestling and increase youth participation in it, with the aim of building a new generation of wrestlers capable of competing at the global level.

At the press conference held at the Rotana Island Yas Hotel, details of the new strategy were revealed in the presence of a number of prominent figures in Emirati wrestling, where Moza Al Ali, a member of the Federation's Management Council, and Sultan Al Kitbi, the Executive Director of the Federation, and Nasser Khamis Al Marri, the Director of Olympic Sports in the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, in addition to Tarek Al Bahri, the General Manager of the World Wrestling Management Association.

Moza Al Ali clarified that the new strategy aims to activate competitive events such as the UAE Wrestling Federation Cup, which will be held in the Arina Hall in Abu Dhabi with the participation of 300 players, in addition to expanding the community participation base in clubs and schools.

For his part, Sultan Al Kitbi explained that the federation seeks to develop training cadres by attracting local and international coaches and organizing training programs and workshops according to global standards. The digital transformation will include the implementation of an electronic registration and live broadcasting system to increase interaction with the sport.

For his part, Nasser Khamis Al Marri emphasized the importance of partnerships with government and private bodies to support the development of wrestlers and prepare them for participation in Olympics. In this context, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the federation and the World Wrestling Management Association, in addition to a cooperation agreement between Khourfakan Club for Wrestling and the federation to support the development of sports.
