The Jiu-Jitsu Association of the United Arab Emirates is preparing for the first stage of the President's Cup for Jiu-Jitsu, the most prestigious local competition, which will take place at the Abu-Dhabi arena on Thursday.
The competitions will be strong in the age category from 18 to 21 years. This age group is characterized by a high level of competition, as it gathers elite athletes combining skills, experience, and ambitions, making the tournament one of the most competitive and challenging.
"The Cup is a key event in the lives of ambitious athletes striving for outstanding results. This peak of local competitions represents a unique opportunity to test personal abilities, assess progress and excellence at the highest level," noted Youssef Abdulla Al-Batran, a member of the association's leadership.
Conducting competitions in the open category of belts provides an opportunity for all athletes to compete regardless of belt color, creating a competitive environment where everyone can demonstrate their skills and learn from more experienced masters, which contributes to the development of their technical and athletic potential in Jiu-Jitsu. Today it was announced that the qualifying matches of the President's Cup will take place on April 2. In the first match, Sharjah will face Al-Jazira at Hazaa Bin Zayed Stadium at 17:45, while on Tuesday, Al-Wasl will meet Shabab Al-Ahli at Al-Maktoum Stadium at 20:30.
