The organizing committee of the 'Egyptian Super Cup 2025' revealed that the tournament's followers exceeded one billion across social media platforms and broadcasting channels, noting that the edition hosted in Abu Dhabi is the most-watched in the tournament's history. Al-Ahly won the title for the fifth consecutive time and the 16th in its history after defeating its rival Zamalek 2-0 yesterday at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, in front of a large crowd of over 30,000 spectators. The first goal was signed by Moroccan Ashraf Ben Sharqi in the 44th minute, then Marwan Attia added the second goal in the 71st. Meanwhile, Hany Abo Rida, a member of FIFA's Executive Committee and President of the Egyptian Football Association, stated that 'the current edition of the Egyptian Super Cup was the most distinguished and successful in the tournament's history,' praising the brilliant organization in the UAE, which reflected an image of professionalism and creativity in hosting major sporting events. He confirmed that 'the final scene came in a civilized, cultural, and sporting manner that befits Egypt's status and its ancient history, and reflects the depth of the fraternal relations between the Egyptian and Emirati peoples.' He pointed out that 'the large attendance that filled the stands in the final match between Al-Ahly and Zamalek, and the wide interest across channels and digital platforms, reflect the special place that the Egyptian Super Cup holds among Arab football fans.' He affirmed that 'the following of more than one billion viewers worldwide is a clear evidence that Egyptian football still maintains its leadership and regional and international impact.' He added that 'the organizational, public, and media success achieved by the current edition of the Egyptian Super Cup in Abu Dhabi was not a coincidence, but rather the result of the integration of efforts between the Egyptian Football Association and the UAE Professional League, which worked as one team to present the event with the highest standards of quality and excellence.' He concluded that 'the Egyptian Football Association is keen to continue the successful partnership with the UAE in organizing the next editions of the Super Cup, for the technical, organizational, and media gains it achieves,' stressing that 'the relationship between the Egyptian and Emirati associations will remain an inspiring model for Arab sports cooperation based on mutual respect and unity of purpose in serving the game and developing it.' The Egyptian Super Cup match had been preceded by a magnificent ceremony, coinciding with the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum this month, where spectacular shows were presented depicting the Pharaonic civilization and the pyramids, followed by folkloric musical performances. Singers Omar Kamal and Mahmoud Al-Leithy also held a concert before the match and during the break, with great public interaction at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium.
