The Al-Wasl club clinched the overall title in the Open Water Swimming Championship for juniors and adults, held at the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club. With 102 points, Al-Wasl topped the leaderboard, followed by Fujairah Club with 43 points and Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club in third with 40 points.
The championship, which saw wide participation from clubs and swimmers, featured outstanding performances across various age groups. In the open category, swimmer Omar Ahmad Khidr from Al-Wasl stole the spotlight by being crowned the best swimmer in his category after an exceptional performance throughout the races.
In the junior age groups, Fujairah Club continued its strong presence. Omar Mohamed Abu Zaid was crowned the best swimmer for the 14-year-old age group, while his teammate Mohammad Al-Yamahi won the title for the 15-16 age group after fierce competition.
In the overall junior 14-year-old category, Fujairah Club took first place, with Al-Wasl in second and Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club in third. In the 16-year-old category, Al-Wasl achieved a strong lead with 76 points, followed by Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club with 66 points and Fujairah in third with 65 points.
In the junior category, Al-Wasl topped the overall standings with 150 points, followed by Fujairah in second with 147 points and Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club in third with 94 points, reflecting an advanced level of development and preparation among the participating clubs.
The event also recognized technical excellence, with Captain Marbik Al-Mas named the best coach for the junior category for his efforts in developing talents, while Captain Marwan Al-Hattawi was named the best coach for the open category for his clear impact on his team's results.
