
The organizers of the 16th World Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Abu Dhabi have announced the closure of registrations for the competitions, which will take place in the Mubadala Arena from November 6 to 16 of this year. This occurred after the overall number of participants exceeded 1000 registrations.
This time, a record number of registered participants in different categories was recorded - 9000 athletes from 137 countries. This is the highest participation rate since the tournament began in 2009.
Last year, 7000 athletes from 127 countries participated in the tournament, which underlines the growing international significance of the tournament as a leading and most prestigious arena for elite athletes from all over the world.
Mohammed Al Marzouqi, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communications, stated: "The registration figures for the current tournament confirm that Abu Dhabi continues to attract and pull in the best talents in jiu-jitsu and adheres to the strategy of creating a leading sports platform, contributing to reaching an outstanding level and revealing the value of the sport in creating bridges between cultures."
