Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center Honors Creative Writing Program Participants

The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center honored the participants in the 'Qalam for Creative Writing' program for 2025, as part of the Al Ain Book Festival 2025. This event was held within the Children's Literature Forum, attended by a select group of specialists in children's book publishing. This year, the program featured two intensive workshops. The first, titled 'Short Story Writing', was supervised by Dr. Abdel-Dayem Salami and involved 10 writers. The second workshop, 'Writing for Children', was led by Nadia Al-Najar and brought together 14 female writers and illustrators. Each workshop included a series of lectures covering writing techniques, artistic structure, text development, and linguistic standards. The sessions also involved discussions on editing, rephrasing, and other writing-related techniques. The program aims to support the writing, authorship, and written expression skills of Emirati youth, and to encourage new writers to publish their creative works. The Executive Director of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center, Saeed Hamdan Al-Tuniji, stated: 'The Qalam for Creative Writing program is one of the Center's tools to spread the Arabic language, enhance its local and global presence, empower the production of Arabic content, and advance Emirati creativity to support the growing and diverse national cultural scene.' He added: 'The program contributes scientifically and practically to paving the way for the Emirati creator to be the best representative of Emirati culture, which contains the cultures of the world, in line with the leadership's vision for the Arabic language as a key component of national identity'.
