Al-Wahda's Portuguese coach, Dimas Teixeira, acknowledged that his team faced a difficult and organized opponent during their match against United. The game ended in a 4-2 defeat, resulting in Al-Wahda's elimination from the President's Cup at the quarter-final stage.
Speaking at the post-match press conference held on Sunday at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain, the coach discussed the team's performance.
"We aspired to win and advance to the next round, but that did not happen. We have to turn the page on this match and focus on the upcoming stage," stated Teixeira.
Regarding his decision to substitute Syrian striker Omar Khribin, the coach clarified that the change came naturally, given the player's participation for more than 95 minutes during the encounter.
