The Expedia company in its annual report throws out challenges with widespread delusions about travel, analyzing billions of data and the largest database of airlines in the world. For instance, one of the widespread delusions is "a getaway from summer heat will cost you dearly." According to recent research, the most suitable day for booking is Sunday from a cost perspective, but it is the most expensive for travel. Travelers can save around 16% on average when booking tickets on Sundays compared to Fridays, but travel on Sundays can be 16% more expensive than on Thursdays.
The Expedia report also on the sharp rise of airline travel in 2025 points out some popular myths about air travel, emphasizing the importance of selecting the right day for travel.
