The company Gartner presented preliminary data showing that the market for semiconductor manufacturers grew by 26.4% in 2021, reaching 150.7 billion dollars. This is a record figure, achieved thanks to high demand for chips, including microchips for automotive and servers.
"By the end of 2021, the semiconductor market demonstrated internal growth, exceeding all expectations," noted Gartner analysts. The demand for chips was high across various sectors of the economy, leading to increased prices for semiconductor products and increased sales volume.
Gartner specialists noted that unfavorable weather conditions and supply chain problems were mentioned as factors in the growth of the semiconductor market. However, despite these challenges, the demand for chips remains high, suggesting that market growth will continue in 2022.
