New Nol Card Top-Up Rules in Dubai

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a new policy that will come into effect on March 1, 2025. According to the update, the minimum amount required to top up Nol cards using ticket vending machines in Dubai will be AED 20. However, it is important to note that this change will not affect online top-ups.

For those looking to recharge their Nol cards at ticket sales offices, the minimum amount will remain at AED 50, as per the RTA's clarification. The authority has also stressed the necessity of maintaining a minimum balance of AED 15 for Silver Nol cards and AED 30 for Gold Nol cards. This balance is crucial to ensure there are sufficient funds for a round trip on the Dubai Metro network.

The Nol card serves as a prepaid smart payment system designed for public transportation in Dubai, covering services such as the metro, buses, trams, and water buses. Not limited to transport, the card can also be utilized for taxi payments, parking fees, as well as transactions at over 2,000 establishments including shops and restaurants citywide.

In a statement, the RTA highlighted the importance of these adjustments to enhance operational efficiency and user experience for Nol cardholders.
