A key initiative discussed during the visit was the officially approved Hatta Gateway project, aimed at enhancing security systems at the border through technological solutions. The project is designed to expand the capacity of the centre to tackle future border security challenges with advanced technology, including artificial intelligence.
Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation, expressed gratitude for the leadership's focus on strengthening government operations and raising the efficiency of customs operations. The advanced customs centre at the border will contribute to reinforcing the city's position as a global trade hub.
