UPS is expanding its presence in the UAE by signing an agreement with Dubai South to open a new facility at the Logistics District. This move will boost UPS's operational capacity in the UAE, strengthening international trade links through its global network.
The agreement was signed by Tariq Badri, Director of Business Development and Investor Relations, and Andrew Sleiman, VP Legal, India Subcontinent, Middle East & Africa. The signing ceremony was attended by Mohsen Ahmad, CEO of the Logistics District, Dubai South, and Ismet Demirel, VP Transportation, India Subcontinent, Middle East & Africa.
The new facility at Dubai South’s Logistics District will offer UPS world-class infrastructure and strategic location benefits for its global network. It provides direct access to Jebel Ali Port via a bonded logistics corridor, enhancing UPS's logistics operations significantly.
Mohsen Ahmad highlighted that the partnership with UPS underscores Dubai South's commitment to strengthening Dubai's position as a global logistics hub. The upcoming facility will empower UPS with enhanced capabilities for faster and more efficient trade connectivity.
Dubai South's Logistics District, known for its top-notch infrastructure and prime location, attracts leading logistics providers seeking to expand in the region. Upon completion, the UPS facility is set to be operational before the year-end to meet the rising demand for logistics services across the region.
The district encompasses various zones with direct access to Al Maktoum International Airport cargo terminals, EZDubai - a specialized e-commerce free zone, and a Contract Logistics Zone. This investment in new capabilities by UPS will facilitate seamless connectivity between businesses across the Middle East and over 200 countries globally, fostering efficiency and growth in one of the world’s most dynamic regions.
