The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology launched the "Made in UAE" initiative during Ramadan with the aim of stimulating consumer demand for products made in the UAE and enhancing their competitiveness. Project partners include the UAE Council for Balanced Development, the National Fund for Social Responsibility "Magrabi", a group of producers of food products and beverages in the UAE, as well as a wide range of local manufacturers.
The pilot version of the event started yesterday in the Umm-Al-Quwain Trade and Industry Chamber, where a diverse range of national products for Ramadan was presented. This unique platform is designed to support local manufacturers and consumers, and it will continue for the first two weeks of Ramadan. The goal of the "Made in UAE" market during Ramadan is to increase the competitiveness of national products, strengthen consumer trust, stimulate growth in the food manufacturing sector, and increase its contribution to the national economy.
Support for national brands and stimulating the growth of the sector are the primary goals of this initiative. The market provides producers with the opportunity to increase sales volume and expand in the local market, while consumers receive exclusive discounts and can buy fresh products directly from the producers, thereby supporting local goods and contributing to the development of the UAE's manufacturing sector.
Omar Al-Suwaidi, Deputy Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, emphasized that the launch of the "Made in UAE" market during Ramadan reflects support for national industries and ensures access to them for consumers. He also noted that thanks to this initiative, a platform is being created for direct interaction between local producers and the community, which enhances trust in national production and supports sustainable industrial growth.
Ubaid Hamid Masfoor, President of the Umm-Al-Quwain Trade and Industry Chamber, expressed satisfaction with the organization's participation in this important initiative, highlighting the role of the local industry in developing the national economy and the need for innovations and quality standards.
In turn, Mohammed Khalifa Bakhit Al-Kaabi, Secretary General of the UAE Council for Balanced Development, noted that the council's participation in this event demonstrates its commitment to supporting local communities and facilitating sustainable economic growth through cooperation with producers and entrepreneurs.
Sara Shaw, General Director of the National Fund for Social Responsibility "Magrabi", pointed out that the "Made in UAE" market during Ramadan serves as a practical example of supporting sustainable consumption of national production and acts as an important means of connecting the private sector with society.
The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology calls on national companies to join the initiative and offer exclusive conditions during the "Made in UAE" market, and also invites producers to participate in the fourth version of the "Made in UAE" event, which will be the largest and will attract producers, investors, and innovators and will take place in Abu Dhabi from May 19 to 22, 2025.
