
The Department of Economic Development and Tourism in Dubai presented fresh statistics on the tourism sector and the number of international visitors, which confirmed Dubai's success in attracting 1.94 million international tourists by January 2025, compared to 1.77 million last year, with a growth of more than 9%.
According to the data provided by the publication "Emirates Today", Europe ranks first in the number of tourists arriving in Dubai, with approximately 369 thousand foreign guests in January, accounting for 19% of the total. In second place are the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States with about 18% and 341 thousand visitors.
Third place was taken by Russia, the CIS and Eastern Europe with 15%, attracting around 285 thousand guests. Then Southern Asia - 14%, with more than 271 thousand international tourists, and 12% arrived from the Middle East and Northern Africa with 236 thousand guests. The countries of Southeast Asia accounted for 10% of the total, leaving 187 thousand foreign visitors.
The total number of hotel rooms in Dubai by the end of January 2025 amounted to more than 153.6 thousand in 831 hospitality facilities, compared to 150.4 thousand rooms in 823 facilities in January 2024.
The average occupancy rate in hospitality facilities in Dubai stood at 84.3% in January 2025, compared to 83.2% for the same period in 2024. Five-star hotels occupied 35% of the hospitality services market in Dubai, with around 54 thousand rooms in 168 facilities. Four-star hotels account for 28%, with 43.5 thousand rooms in 197 facilities.
Hotels with a rating of "three and one star" occupy 20% of the market, with a total exceeding 29.8 thousand rooms in 279 hotels. Apartment hotels offered more than 26.1 thousand rooms in 187 facilities, making up 17% of the overall hospitality services market in Dubai.
The length of stay of guests at the end of January 2025 averaged 3.76 hotel nights, compared to 3.8 nights for the comparable period of 2024, while the number of booked nights exceeded four million, compared to about 3.84 million for the prior period - a growth of more than 4%.
The average cost of a room in a hotel in Dubai reached 683 dirhams in January 2025, compared to 643 dirhams last year, which represents a growth of 6%, while the average income from available rooms was 576 dirhams in January 2025, compared to 535 dirhams last year - with a growth of 8%.
