In Dubai, an International Sports and Entertainment Zone (ISEZA) will be created, which will significantly elevate the status of the emirate as a global center for sports and entertainment industries. ISEZA is designed as a dedicated cluster of a free trade zone, specifically focusing on the sports and entertainment sectors. The country already has over 40 specialized free trade zones, and ISEZA will uniquely serve the developing sectors of sports and entertainment in the UAE and the Middle East.
The new zone will support companies engaged in traditional industries such as sports management, marketing, event organization, talent representation, media, and broadcasting, while also promoting growth in emerging segments, including e-sports, AI-based sports technologies, and enhanced fan experiences. The zone will attract a diverse group of stakeholders from the industry, including global brands, sports leagues, franchises, rights holders, investors, talent agencies, artists, influencers, and media professionals.
As stated by the Vice President for Asset Management and Investments of Dubai World Trade Centre Khalid Al-Fahim, the launch of ISEZA within the free trade zone DWTC will contribute to the creation of a dynamic ecosystem that facilitates the growth of sporting and entertainment businesses and startups. The General Director of ISEZA, Damir Valeev, emphasized the strategic importance of the project, noting that it contributes to Dubai's vision as a global hub for sports, entertainment, and tourism.
ISEZA, located in One Central next to the iconic Dubai Museum of the Future, is positioned as a central hub for professionals, entrepreneurs, and enthusiasts in the sports and entertainment sectors. The International Sports and Entertainment Zone (ISEZA) is known to be a unique world-class free trade zone dedicated specifically to the sports and entertainment sectors.
In 2015, the Dubai World Trade Centre was established as a global trading hub, ensuring a competitive and regulated ecosystem of the free zone, strategically located in the central business district of Dubai.
With the aim of promoting active sports, a healthy lifestyle, and community engagement, DWTCA will significantly enhance its offerings through exhibitions, museums, academic programs, and social projects. Today, the sports industry in Dubai contributes approximately $2.5 billion to the UAE economy annually. Currently, the Dubai World Trade Centre offers over two million square feet of premium commercial office space and serves a diverse international business community made up of startups, small businesses, and leading corporations across more than 40 sectors. It is aimed at simplifying the licensing of businesses and creating an environment for accelerated industry growth.
