Dubai Design Quarter Project Contract Awarded

Miras, a subsidiary of Dubai Properties Group, announced the conclusion of a contract worth more than two billion dirhams with Arabtec Construction for the implementation of construction works in the Design Quarter project in the Dubai Design District. Design Quarter is the first luxury residential community located in the global creative and design hub.

According to a statement published yesterday, construction of the Design Quarter is set to be completed by mid-2027. The project aims to create a vibrant living space in the very heart of the Dubai Design District, offering residents views of the Dubai Water Canal and the Emirates skyline.

The Design Quarter, which was presented earlier, includes 558 apartments, including studios, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom apartments. The apartments are located in three buildings: one low-rise building and two high-rise buildings, between which there is a platform that connects residents and creates a central public space with modern working spaces, indoor and outdoor sports halls, basements, barbecue areas, and numerous children’s spaces.

With the aim of preserving the Dubai Design District as a pedestrian-friendly zone, parking spaces for the residential area will be provided at underground levels.

Commenting on the partnership, Khalid Al-Malek, the General Director of Dubai Properties Group, noted: "We are very pleased to collaborate with Arabtec Construction for the realization of the first residential project in Dubai Design District. The project represents a model that reflects the spirit of life in a creative artistic environment and contributes to the economic growth of the Emirates on a long-term basis, supporting the goals of Dubai's economic agenda (D33) and the Dubai Urban Plan 2040."

Expressing his thoughts on the project, Hamid Mikati, the General Director of Operations at Arabtec Construction, stated: "We are happy to contribute to this project, which is set to become a significant landmark for the people of Dubai," adding: "This collaboration with Miras is not limited to the construction of the residential project; we will work on creating a unique system that fosters creativity and innovation while strengthening Dubai's position as a vibrant and creative hub."
