Emirates has announced the completion of the refurbishment and modernization of 48 aircraft in its fleet this week as part of one of the largest refresh programs in the global aviation industry worth around 5 billion dollars. The refurbishment includes a total of 220 aircraft.
"The refurbishment of 29 Airbus A380 and 19 Boeing 777 in our fleet has been completed, which occurs as part of our commitment to provide an unparalleled experience for passengers in the sky," the company reported.
The Emirates Engineering Centre manages and executes the complete refurbishment of its internal fleet. Currently, more than 250 employees are working on the project in collaboration with 31 partners and suppliers. Specialized workshops have been created within the project.
The airline has launched a fleet renewal and modernization program of 120 aircraft, including 67 Airbus A380 and 53 Boeing 777.
