Gulf stock markets had mixed performances at the start of the week, with UAE markets closed for the weekend holiday on Sunday.

Fluctuation in Gulf Stock Performance

At the beginning of the week, stock market courses in the Persian Gulf demonstrated diversity. In the Emirates, trades were not conducted on Sunday due to the day off. Despite this, the background indices of other countries in the region showed mixed results.

On this day, the most stable indicator was the Kuwait stock market, where the index rose by 1.2%. On the other hand, Oman and Qatar recorded a decline in indices of 0.1% and 0.3%, respectively. Experts link this change to the influence of various factors, including political and economic conditions in global markets.

Referring to the financial sector, Riyad Bank from Saudi Arabia also showed a decrease of 0.3%. According to analysts, further changes in stock prices will depend on the development of the situation with the spread of the coronavirus and decisions by state institutions regarding economic support amid the pandemic.

"Observed trends on the markets indicate uncertainty among investors regarding the long-term prospects of the region's economy," emphasized one of the experts.
