The event is expected to attract over 5,000 visitors this year.
In detail, Abdullah Ali Noun, Director of Special Projects at Dubai Golf and the responsible party for FIA Marine, the organizer of the Dubai Used Boat Show, stated that "The 11th edition of the exhibition featured boat and yacht products launched for the first time through its platforms, the most prominent of which are green hybrid yachts that run on electricity and diesel and are equipped with solar panels."
He added that "Dubai's markets are witnessing gradual growth and transformation in demand for such types of green yachts, whether hybrid or those running on electricity and solar energy, in a manner that aligns with the qualitative shift towards environmentally friendly products, which in turn also allow for modern innovative technologies and savings in traditional fuel."
Noun also pointed out that "The exhibition also saw, for the first time, various innovations in the used boat and yacht sector, the most prominent of which are amphibious vehicles, which include boats shaped like and in the form of different car models and come with Emirati manufacturing."
He explained that Dubai has become a regional center in the trade of used yachts and boats, supported by several factors, the most prominent of which is the abundance of marinas that provide berths for these yachts and the development of infrastructure, as well as the facilitation of use and licensing of these yachts, with the availability of many berths in residential complexes near water bodies. He noted that "The markets for used yachts in Dubai are witnessing an annual growth estimated at around 17%."
He explained that the share of local manufacturing of used boats and yachts in Dubai reaches about 20% of the total products traded, with Dubai being a destination for global companies that offer boat and yacht products in all categories, in addition to the growth of the local industry.
He indicated that the UAE in general accounts for about 50% of the total marina berths for yachts in the Middle East region, noting that Dubai has 22 marinas, which include more than 4,190 yacht berths.
In turn, the CEO of OZ Marine, Izet Ozturkman, said that "His company launched amphibious vehicles manufactured in the UAE markets during the exhibition, with different specifications and managed as fast yachts in the shapes and colors of cars." He noted that "Amphibious vehicles are currently being exported from the UAE to various world markets."
He explained that "The prices of amphibious vehicles start from 60,000 dirhams for used brands, while the prices of new ones range between 100,000 and 200,000 dirhams according to specifications and speeds."
The organization of the exhibition comes in light of the high growth indicators achieved by the Emirate of Dubai in the maritime sector, where the number of maritime means registered during the year 2024, according to reports issued by the Dubai Maritime Authority, affiliated with the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, reached about 7,738 maritime means, an increase of 14.4% compared to 2023, while the number of maritime crew members reached 12,226 thousand, a growth rate of 22.8%, which reflects the confidence of investors and operators in the Emirate's advanced maritime environment and reflects Dubai's position as a leading global center for maritime innovation and sustainability.
The activities of the "Dubai Used Boat 2025" exhibition, which began its work the evening before yesterday and ends today (Sunday) at Dubai Creek Marina, featured boat and yacht products presented for the first time, including an amphibious vehicle with Emirati manufacturing, as well as green hybrid yachts that run on electricity, solar panels, and diesel.
"Emirates Today" monitored the display of luxury yachts manufactured from international products at a price reaching 30 million dirhams, and boats with prices starting from 60,000 dirhams.
The exhibition was launched under the slogan "A boat for every person," with the participation of more than 50 brands from around the world, showcasing more than 50 yachts and boats with a total value exceeding 200 million dirhams, which reflects Dubai's status as a main platform for innovation in the world of recreational navigation and a leading center for the trade of used boats in the region.
