Consumers have reported that in recent times, markets have seen the launch of many new Emirati products, which has boosted the number of discount offers in retail outlets. Additionally, these products are initially offered at prices lower than their imported counterparts from various brands.
They noted that Emirati products, especially those recently introduced to the market, generally lead promotional offers, providing consumers with low-cost alternatives. Key local products launched in recent periods include cleaning and personal care items, as well as packaged foodstuffs such as oats, sugar, spices, and baked goods.
Retail specialists explained that both new and previously available Emirati goods are seeing increasing demand, offering a variety of products at low prices and high quality. They pointed out that it is common for new products in the market to have increased discounts to familiarize consumers with them, which in turn expands promotional offers for shoppers.
In detail, consumer Yaser Mohsin said, "I have recently noticed the availability of many new products manufactured in the country in many stores, especially in the cleaning and personal care sector, with these products available at low prices or as part of extensive and long-term discount offers. This has allowed consumer families to purchase these products as an alternative to similar brands sold at higher prices."
Consumer Mohamed Hassan added, "I used to buy liquid laundry detergents from international brands at high prices until I found multiple new and diverse alternatives manufactured in UAE markets at significantly lower prices, in addition to being continuously offered as part of price discounts. This has eased the financial burden on families when shopping for their household needs."
Consumer Marwan Ibrahim explained that "new Emirati products, which mainly include cleaning and care items, as well as packaged foodstuffs like oats, sugar, rice, and spices, and baked goods, support discount offers because they capture a large share of the discounts available in recent times in many stores for long periods. This is because these products are still new and are offered at low prices to stimulate their sales."
Consumer Muna Youssef noted that "many new Emirati products in the markets lead discount offers in many stores, in addition to these goods being initially offered at low prices with individual discounts on them, especially from cleaning products and foodstuffs packaged in the country." She pointed out that "modern Emirati products in the markets have provided consumers with more alternatives and boosted the increase in discount offers, as they capture a large share of the offers presented in many stores and supermarkets."
In turn, CEO of "Cooperative Union" Mohamed Al Hashimi said, "Products manufactured in UAE markets are competitive products that are available at a low cost and high quality." He stated that "the expansion in offering many Emirati-made products increases the alternatives and choices available to consumer families in obtaining high-quality products."
He added that "the Cooperative continuously supports the priority of promoting national products, which supports the local economy and the competitiveness of those products in the markets, meeting the various and growing needs of consumers."
Corporate Communications Director at "Lulu Group International" Nanda Kumar said, "The new Emirati products that have been launched in the markets in recent times are witnessing increasing acceptance from consumers, with their availability at high quality and low cost compared to many similar global products, which allows for more options for consumers at competitive prices that reduce the financial burden on consumer families." He pointed out that "locally made Emirati products provide consumers with an increasing variety of alternatives, especially since a large number of them capture a large share of discount offers." The group supports the priority of displaying locally made Emirati products, whether in promotional offers or in general, especially as they enjoy great consumer trust.
Sales Manager at one of the retail stores, Mohamed Rabea, said, "The launch of new Emirati-made products leads discount offers in many stores, because the companies supplying those goods aim, by increasing discounts on them, to enhance their competitiveness and sales against the famous and old brands in the market, and thus attract larger segments of consumers, especially since their quality is high and their prices are low, which reflects positively on consumer families."
Retail affairs expert Ibrahim Al Baher believes that the new Emirati-made goods in the market, which are presented within increasing discount offers to further familiarize consumers with them, provide consumers with more options and alternatives. They represent a valuable addition to the retail sector by increasing competitiveness and supporting the trend of companies to launch products with even more competitive prices.
