The airline is currently working on adding long-haul destinations to its expanding network. Today, FlyDubai and GE Aviation signed a new agreement to purchase 60 GEnx-1B engines to power the airline's first widebody fleet, consisting of 30 Boeing 787-9 aircraft. The agreement, signed at the Dubai Air Show 2025, also includes spare engines and long-term support services to assist the airline in launching its long-haul operations. This agreement supports FlyDubai's strategy of continuous growth and network expansion, enabling it to increase its capacity on existing routes and meet the growing demand from its passengers.
