The selection of GEnx-1B engines underscores FlyDubai's confidence in GE Aviation's solutions, which offer the best-in-class performance, durability, and fuel efficiency. The performance and reliability of our engines play a crucial role in the success of our operations and fleet expansion plans, especially as we prepare to welcome the Boeing 787 to our fleet in the coming years. These engines are designed for powerful performance and high reliability and are essential for sustaining the airline's growth in the region's operating environment. Gaith Al Gaith, CEO of FlyDubai, said: "Over the years, FlyDubai has cemented its position as a key player in the aviation sector, driven by a vision that aims to facilitate travel through Dubai as a global aviation hub." Today, FlyDubai and GE Aviation signed a new agreement to purchase 60 GEnx-1B engines to power the airline's first widebody fleet, consisting of 30 Boeing 787-9 aircraft. This agreement supports FlyDubai's strategy of continuous growth and network expansion, enabling it to increase its capacity on existing routes and meet the growing demand from its passengers.
