Experts in the field of marketing agree on the pivotal role Dubai plays as a leading center for media creativity and digital content production, and as a preferred destination for creative talents in various fields, including advertising and marketing. They highlighted the efforts of the Dubai Media Council and its role in elevating the media industry in the emirate, as well as in organizing its activities in a manner that ensures greater success and prosperity.
This was discussed during the "Future of Marketing - Middle East" seminar, organized by the "Advertisers' Working Group" and hosted by Dubai for the first time. The event brought together an elite of the most prominent advertising agencies, media institutions, digital platforms, and decision-makers in advertising and marketing to discuss the most prominent trends, latest technologies, and significant transformations that will shape the marketing, advertising, and advertising sector over the next 10 years.
The event, held for the first time in Dubai, saw the participation of influential global organizations in marketing, including the World Federation of Advertisers (WAF), the global Brandetics group, L'Oréal Middle East, Procter & Gamble, Epson UAE, Nestlé, as well as platforms like Property Finder, TikTok, Snapchat, and others.
In her opening speech, the Secretary-General of the Dubai Media Council, Nhal Badri, affirmed Dubai's commitment to its approach of supporting and stimulating creativity across all sectors of the media industry, including advertising and marketing, which supports the growth and development of the sector not only at the UAE level but across the region in general within a framework of good governance. She did so based on Dubai's standing as a leading center for media creativity and its continuous efforts to enhance cooperation between the public and private sectors in a way that serves the media industry and ensures opportunities for its prosperity, including policy-making and building qualitative, constructive partnerships.
She also touched upon the efforts made by the Dubai Media Council, under the leadership and guidance of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, through a comprehensive strategy and a multi-track operational mechanism, aiming to affirm Dubai's inspiring model as the capital of the creative economy, highlighting the importance of the advertising and marketing sector as a key component of the media industry.
She pointed to the Council's efforts in building effective bridges of cooperation between the public and private sectors to enhance growth and development opportunities in this field.
Nhal Badri said: "The world is dominated by a sense of uncertainty... but this is not the case in the United Arab Emirates... we have long overcome this thanks to ambitious leadership and a vision that believes the future is only made through creativity, innovation, and knowledge... this leading thought is clearly expressed in Dubai's Economic Agenda D33, which aims to enhance Dubai's position among the top three economic cities in the world."
She explained that marketing has become an art that has transcended its old concept and now largely depends on the ability to convey a message through successful and impactful storytelling, noting that the emergence of new technologies, the most important of which is artificial intelligence, has a major impact on marketing, as it helps measure the impact of advertising and the effectiveness of campaigns, and even provide deep insights into the response of the receiving audience.
She emphasized that those working in marketing in the future must combine technological knowledge and human sensibility, global vision and authenticity, and a connection to their roots, confirming that marketing is capable of building trust, inspiring progress, and shaping a positive perception of our region in the world.
