Major European indices fell slightly on Monday, pressured by consumer staples stocks like Unilever, which dropped after completing its Magnum spinoff. Investors are awaiting the Fed's policy meeting.

European Stocks Fall as Unilever Completes Spinoff

Major European stock indices, such as Germany's DAX and France's CAC 40, fell by 0.1% and 0.3%, respectively. The broader European Stoxx 600 index declined 0.2% to 577.98 points. The biggest drag on the index came from consumer staples stocks, with Unilever shares plunging 3.1% after the consumer goods giant completed its separation from its ice cream business, Magnum. L'Oréal shares also dropped 1.6%, and the spun-off entity is set to be listed as Magnum Ice Cream. European stocks edged lower on Monday as losses in consumer staples stocks offset gains in the industrial and healthcare sectors, while investors await the Federal Reserve's monetary policy meeting this week.
