The CEO of Dubai Airports, Paul Griffith, confirmed that Dubai International Airport is rapidly moving towards eliminating traditional queues by adopting facial recognition and biometric systems. He added that "it won't be long before we roll out the 'Smart Red Carpet Tunnel' to all airport guests," which will significantly reduce waiting times and give passengers more time to enjoy their travels.
Griffith stated on his LinkedIn account that "biometric technologies enable us to continue enhancing our guests' experience, making transit through our facilities smoother than ever before." He emphasized: "Waiting in lines at Dubai Airport is a thing of the past – and fast."
He explained that the "Smart Red Carpet Tunnel" serves as an advanced model to facilitate passenger flow. As passengers pass through the tunnel, their faces are automatically recognized, granting them immediate "green light" passage without the need for additional security checks.
The Dubai General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs mentioned that the "Red Carpet - Smart Passage" project has brought a qualitative transformation to the travel experience at Dubai Airport by employing artificial intelligence and facial recognition technologies to enable passage without the need to present documents.
Dubai Airports began operating the "Red Carpet" in Terminal 3 of Dubai International Airport for departing business class travelers.
Paul Griffith, CEO of Dubai Airports, stated that Dubai International Airport is taking rapid steps to eliminate the scene of traditional queues. The "Red Carpet - Smart Passage" project is one of the most prominent achievements of Dubai Airports in smart travel, enabling passengers to pass through Dubai Airport in seconds using only facial recognition. This experience embodies the integration of technology and human elements, and enhances Dubai's position as a world-leading hub for innovation and digital transformation.
