Dubai Duty Free announced on Wednesday achieving unprecedented sales figures, surpassing the 8 billion dirham barrier for the first time in its history. According to a statement from the market, sales exceeded this figure after an Indian traveler flying to Delhi purchased two packs of cigarettes for 371 dirhams. This achievement continues the momentum of record-breaking sales throughout 2025, with nine out of eleven months of the year setting new records. November, in particular, recorded the highest monthly sales in history, reaching 876.56 million dirhams. During a visit to Building No. 3 at Dubai International Airport, Dubai Duty Free's Executive Director, Ramesh Sidambe, stated: "We are thrilled to achieve this milestone and exceed the 8 billion dirham mark for the first time in our history. We thank all members of our team, working around the clock, both in our retail stores and in our back offices, for their efforts that have enabled us to reach this high level of performance as we approach the end of 2025." He added: "We managed to achieve a 17.6% increase in sales during the first nine days of December compared to the same period last year." It is worth noting that Dubai Duty Free is preparing to celebrate its 42nd anniversary on December 20th, launching a special offer of discounts of up to 25% on a wide range of products.
