Dubai Introduces New 14-Karat Gold Hallmark

The Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group has finally added a new hallmark to its price lists for gold hallmarks traded in commercial centers and gold markets across the emirate. The group's current price lists show the inclusion of a '14-karat' hallmark at a price of 300.75 dirhams per gram, making it the lowest-priced hallmark currently. Previously, the '18-karat' hallmark was the least expensive. Gold markets in the emirate currently offer hallmarks of 24, 22, 21, and 18 karats. Officials from gold and jewelry trading companies and outlets told 'Emirates Today' that the inclusion of the '14-karat' hallmark for the first time in Dubai's gold hallmark price lists makes it the most affordable option, offering consumers more variety, especially given the recent record highs of the yellow metal. They noted that the new hallmark is currently available in several outlets and is expected to spread widely, which will boost demand for gold in Dubai, a preferred destination for purchasing jewelry. Aditya Singh, International Jewellery Division Manager at 'Titan' company, stated: 'Including the 14-karat hallmark in Dubai's gold markets supports diversity of choices for consumers and boosts the growth of demand for gold jewelry by providing more affordable products.' He added that the new hallmark is currently available in many market outlets in diverse designs, offering modern models that appeal to younger consumers. He pointed out that the widespread availability of new hallmarks in markets enhances Dubai's status as a preferred destination for tourists and residents to buy gold jewelry. Abdullah Mohammed Ali, Sales Manager at 'Al-Saffar for Gold and Jewellery Trading', said: 'The launch of a new gold hallmark in Dubai's markets, with some gold stores starting to offer it, provides more options and alternatives at lower prices, especially amid the record increases in gold prices in recent periods, which reached the highest levels in the history of the yellow metal.' He added to 'Emirates Today': 'Gold jewelry of 14 karats has recently been launched in Dubai's markets, and it is expected to see wider spread in the country's markets in the coming period, given the growing demand for gold.' He confirmed that the 14-karat hallmark is now the cheapest in Dubai's markets, whereas the 18-karat hallmark held that position previously. He confirmed that the 14-karat hallmark complies with European standards and is available in several markets in Europe and the world, and was gradually launched in Dubai's markets, considered a positive initiative that meets consumer needs. Dilip Patni, Sales Manager at 'Al-Fanan for Gold and Jewellery Trading', said: 'Dubai has introduced a new gold hallmark into its price lists, with some stores beginning to offer various designs of gold jewelry in that hallmark, which is a pioneering initiative.' He noted that this type of gold jewelry is not yet available in all market stores. Patni expects the gold jewelry of this hallmark to see greater spread in markets, as it caters to the tastes of consumers of various nationalities, especially since 14-karat jewelry is common in many world markets and attracts consumers from European, Russian, Chinese, and Iranian nationalities, which supports sales growth in Dubai's markets as a center for gold trading with diverse products and hallmarks.
