The Dubai Chamber of Commerce, one of the three chambers operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, has announced the establishment of the Bulgarian Business Council. The council aims to enhance economic cooperation, stimulate partnerships between the business communities in Dubai and Bulgaria, and expand investment cooperation across various sectors. The first meeting of the council, held at the headquarters of Dubai Chambers, discussed ways to develop investments, promising business opportunities, and elevate relations between Bulgarian companies and their counterparts operating in Dubai, as well as sharing expertise and data and organizing bilateral business events. The establishment of the Bulgarian Business Council comes as Dubai's position as an international hub for Bulgarian companies and investors grows. The value of non-oil trade between Dubai and Bulgaria reached 777 million dirhams in 2024, with an annual growth rate of 5%, reflecting the strength of bilateral trade relations. With the addition of 54 new Bulgarian companies to the membership of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce during the first nine months of the current year, the total number of active Bulgarian companies registered with the chamber stood at 243 by the end of last September. Maha Al Qarqawi, Vice President of the Business Community Support Sector at Dubai Chambers, stated: "The establishment of the Bulgarian Business Council ushers in a new phase in the economic relations between Dubai and Bulgaria, contributing to building effective partnerships between business communities, developing wide-ranging opportunities for joint investment cooperation, and stimulating sustainable growth in bilateral trade relations."
The business councils, operating under the umbrella of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, represent the nationalities of investors operating in the emirate of Dubai. These councils facilitate cooperation and coordination with the Chamber, supporting the enhancement of bilateral trade and investments between Dubai-based companies and companies from the countries and markets represented by the councils, with the aim of developing economic partnerships.
