Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has signed a new contract worth AED 216 million to implement a strategic project aimed at enhancing the efficiency and reliability of water transmission networks across several areas of Dubai. The contract includes the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of glass-reinforced epoxy (GRE) pipelines of various diameters, in addition to carrying out ancillary works at multiple sites within the emirate. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, confirmed that the authority is committed to enhancing production and operational efficiency and raising the reliability level of water transmission networks in various areas of Dubai, supporting the emirate's sustainable development journey. The project involves the installation, testing, and commissioning of a main water transmission pipeline extending 7.1 kilometers, along with implementing 20 connection points for linking transmission and distribution networks to increase flow and pressure across the network in different parts of Dubai. This will enhance the readiness of the water transmission system and its capacity to meet the growing demand. The project aims to ensure the necessary water supply to meet the rapidly increasing demand, serving current projects and future needs. It is scheduled to be completed within 24 months, contributing to Dubai's advanced infrastructure and multi-sectoral development projects.
