Dubai Launches Two-Year 'Expojar' Vocational Training Program

The Real Estate Development and Delivery Authority in Dubai Expo City has launched the 'Expojar' program, a comprehensive two-year vocational training program designed to prepare future leaders from Emirati talent. The program targets recent graduates from various disciplines, aiming to equip them with the experience and leadership skills required in the job market in the fields of real estate and sustainable urban development in the UAE. Registration for this program opens on December 10. According to a statement released yesterday, this initiative targets Emirati citizens who graduated in the last two years, in urban planning, engineering, and business administration, as well as in design, development, execution, sales and marketing, program management, and procurement. Participants will have the opportunity to work on the master plan for Dubai Expo City and gain practical experience on large-scale city-level projects under the supervision of senior directors in the city's real estate development team. The statement notes that selected candidates will join 'Expo City' under a two-year temporary contract. The first year of the track includes specialized training and job rotation across various departments and specializations, while second-year students will specialize in one area based on performance evaluation, their interests, and business needs. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will be eligible for direct promotion to senior positions in the 'Real Estate Development and Delivery Authority' in the city. Ahmed Al-Khatib, CEO of Real Estate Development and Delivery at Dubai Expo City, said: 'Dubai Expo City, as the master developer, is committed to creating smart, sustainable, and resilient communities that contribute to the UAE's journey of development and prosperity.' He added: 'This new investment channels the energy of the next generation of Emirati talent by engaging them in all aspects of the urban planning, real estate, and construction sectors, providing them with the skills to lead in sustainable urban development, ensuring our city remains at the forefront of human-centric innovation and design.' Marjan Fredouni, CEO of Human Resources and Head of Education and Culture at Dubai Expo City, said: 'The Expojar program embodies our commitment to developing the skills of Emirati youth and boosting their self-confidence. It offers Emirati talent a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and directly contribute to building a sustainable city, human-centric and innovation-driven. We are proud to launch this initiative, which not only nurtures the next generation of leaders at Expo City but also contributes to driving the nation's development and developing a highly skilled professional workforce that builds the future of the nation.' Dubai Expo City confirmed that this initiative supports its efforts to develop the city into a central hub within Dubai's 2040 Urban Master Plan and aligns directly with Dubai's Economic Agenda (33), which will help integrate thousands of young Emiratis into the workforce as part of the shift towards a knowledge-based, sustainable, and innovative economy.
