The 'Tawazun' Council for Defense Empowerment announced that deals by the Ministry of Defense on the first day of 'IDEX & SIMTEX 2026' reached 879.785 million dirhams, resulting from four deals. This announcement comes within the strategic role played by 'Tawazun' in enhancing the defense and security industrial ecosystem, supporting the readiness of the armed forces, and developing local and international strategic partnerships, in line with the UAE's directions for localizing advanced industries and transferring knowledge and technology. The official spokespersons for the 'Tawazun' Council for Defense Empowerment, Mohammed Saif Al Zaabi and Maan Abdel Karim Al Mansouri, announced the deals, confirming that announcements about deals will continue throughout the three days of the exhibition, reflecting the growing momentum in the unmanned systems, simulation, and training sector. The first day saw the announcement of three deals for the 'Edge' group. The first deal was for the development of SCORPIO S and SCORPIO M type unmanned ground vehicles, valued at 28 million and 883 thousand dirhams. The second deal was allocated for the development of a gyrocopter and its conversion into an unmanned transport aircraft, valued at 22 million dirhams. The third deal included the purchase of ANAVIA HT-100 aircraft valued at 661 million and 194 thousand dirhams. A contract was also signed with Daifco International for Military Equipment, one of the companies in the international Al-Rimah group, to purchase remote-controlled vehicles valued at 167 million and 708 thousand dirhams. The official spokespersons confirmed that these deals reflect the growing importance of 'IDEX & SIMTEX' exhibitions as a global strategic platform that brings together decision-makers, experts, and specialized companies in unmanned systems, simulation, training, and future solutions, contributing to supporting the goals of national security and defense. They also indicated that upcoming announcements during the exhibition days will include additional deals that will enhance the UAE's position as a regional and global hub for advanced defense industries. 'Tawazun' is the national entity responsible for translating defense and security priorities into tangible institutional, industrial, and economic outcomes in the UAE.
