The Dubai Customs Department yesterday unveiled its new project, the 'Accredited Center for Training Customs Inspection Equipment Operators', aimed at enhancing the efficiency of customs inspection and developing the skills of inspectors according to the highest global standards. According to a statement from the Department, the launch of the new center is part of its participation in the World Customs Day, which falls on January 26 each year. Director General of Dubai Customs, Dr. Abdullah Busnad, stated that the 'Accredited Center for Training Customs Inspection Equipment Operators' project represents a strategic pillar in the society protection system, by building qualified and capable customs competencies to handle security risks with high efficiency and vigilance, and contributes to achieving a balance between security control and accelerating customs procedures. In turn, First Advisor for Customs Affairs and Supervisor of the Customs Inspection Sector at Dubai Customs, Yaser Muslimi, said that 'Customs inspection is the cornerstone of the society protection system, as it represents the first line of defense in protecting the country's borders, combating smuggling, and countering security threats, which enhances the stability enjoyed by the United Arab Emirates'. Director of the Passengers Operations Department at Dubai Customs, Khalid Ahmed, stated that the 'Accredited Center for Training Customs Inspection Equipment Operators' project is one of the most prominent strategic projects launched by Dubai Customs to develop the customs inspection system using X-ray inspection equipment. The project is based on a clear vision aimed at enhancing the efficiency and security of customs inspection operations by qualifying and accrediting X-ray equipment operators, ensuring detection accuracy, procedural speed, and community protection.
