Dubai-based Paybit to launch digital bank accounts

The platform, which has 81 million clients worldwide, plans to start offering banking services by launching accounts that will allow clients to hold balances in US dollars and other traditional currencies. This step could turn it into a kind of 'digital bank' or 'neobank'. The company's CEO, Ben Zhu, said that 'Paybit' will launch these accounts in cooperation with partner banks, including 'Peach Bank' — a licensed neobank in Eastern Europe, in Georgia. The new accounts, named 'MyBank', will have an International Bank Account Number (IBAN), which will allow clients to transfer money in 18 different currencies both domestically and internationally.
