The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Dubai Customs jointly launched the 'Remote Visual Inspection' project to enhance efficiency, accelerate transactions, and support digitalization in the aviation and customs sectors. Dubai Launches Remote Visual Inspection Project

The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, in cooperation with Dubai Customs, announced the launch of the 'Remote Visual Inspection' project. This step aims to enhance the efficiency of inspection procedures, accelerate transaction processing, and support the digital transformation of the aviation and customs sectors, in line with the vision of Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, by contributing to shaping the future of aviation as one of the vital drivers of the national economy's growth and aligning with Dubai government's directions for providing smart and proactive services. The Remote Visual Inspection project includes supporting services for issuing a no-objection certificate for the inspection and identification of aircraft spare parts in the possession of travelers through Dubai airports or its land ports. The spare parts are subject to regulatory inspection by the Aircraft Surveillance Department, and based on this, the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority issues a no-objection certificate. The service for issuing a no-objection certificate for the inspection and identification of aircraft spare parts witnessed significant growth after the volume of demand for it in 2025 increased threefold compared to 2024. The Remote Visual Inspection project is one of the strategic initiatives that enhance Dubai's position as a global hub in the field of aviation and logistics, and embodies the effective partnership between government entities in developing innovative solutions that support sustainability and institutional excellence. Dubai Civil Aviation Authority Director General Mohammed Abdullah Al Naqbi stated that the Remote Visual Inspection project represents an advanced model of institutional integration between the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Dubai Customs, and reflects the joint commitment to adopting innovative solutions that meet Dubai government's aspirations for providing smart, flexible, and highly efficient services while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance. He added that the project contributed to improving the customer experience and raising their satisfaction levels, along with achieving positive results on happiness indicators, confirming that this initiative constitutes an important step in the journey of the digital transformation of the aviation sector in Dubai. For his part, Dubai Customs Director General Dr. Abdulrahman Busnad expressed his happiness about the advanced partnership with the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, which represents a pioneering path for government cooperation aimed at innovating and developing digital services that contribute to facilitating business and increasing operations in the trade and aviation sectors, thereby supporting the achievement of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 goals. He confirmed that the 'Remote Visual Inspection' represents an evolved model for reducing procedure times, enabling a flexible and attractive business environment, and improving compliance and operational efficiency, enhancing the customer experience, which positively reflects on Dubai's global competitiveness. He explained that the project reflects Dubai Customs' direction towards developing innovative customs programs and systems aimed at implementing comprehensive and integrated security solutions that meet our customers' expectations, raise the readiness of customs ports, and keep pace with the requirements of the rapidly growing aviation sector, especially regarding the inspection, identification, and transportation of aircraft spare parts across various customs ports. He affirmed that Dubai, thanks to its ambitious vision and advanced logistics infrastructure, has today become a strategic center for trade and the aviation industry.
