Since the launch of freight rail operations, the national railway network has become a cornerstone of the transport system and logistical infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates, providing companies with a reliable, safe, and sustainable means of transport that contributes to enhancing the efficiency and flexibility of supply chains.

Omar Al-Sabahi, President and CEO of Union Railways for Freight, said: "The UAE's National Railway Network was designed to enhance the flexibility and reliability of the logistical services and supply chains in the country." He added: "Union Railways for Freight continues its pivotal role in ensuring the continuity of freight movement across the UAE, enabling companies to rely on a secure, efficient, and reliable transport network."

To support network flexibility, additional corridors have been activated on the railway network, with the multimodal capacity being redirected towards the eastern ports, the Dry Port of Ghayl, supported by the operation of five additional freight trains to enhance the efficiency and continuity of freight movement.
