Dubai Electricity and Water Authority's (DEWA) 'Aounak' initiative provided over 36,000 technical consultations in 2025, helping contractors and consultants successfully secure project approvals on the first try.


DEWA's 'Aounak' Initiative Successfully Assisted Thousands of Clients

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) announced that its awareness initiative 'Aounak' received 2,381 preliminary technical consultations before project applications were submitted last year, 2025. Additionally, it received 36,795 online technical consultations during the project application and approval phase. According to the Authority's statement yesterday, the number of beneficiaries from the awareness sessions and videos available on the platform reached 13,101 contractors and consultants. Through videos and technical consultations on the Authority's official website, the 'Aounak' initiative explains step-by-step, in Arabic and English, how to apply for electricity, fill out application forms, and prepare the correct documents. It focuses on key points, adherence to required formats and protocols, and provides a set of practical tips and recommendations to ensure that applications meet all necessary requirements upon submission and to successfully obtain Authority approval for No-Objection Certificates. Accredited contractors and consultants highlighted the initiative's role in providing tips and guidelines to help obtain approval on the first try when submitting electricity connection applications. They praised its role in strengthening communication with the Authority, saving effort and time, and facilitating and speeding up business processes. Engineer Mohammad Nasih from 'Mazari Contracting' said: 'The platform clearly and simply explains the necessary steps to apply for a No-Objection Certificate in an easy-to-understand way.'
