Employee compensation in federal and local government entities, including salaries and benefits, amounted to 129.8 billion dirhams in 2025, compared to 124.5 billion dirhams in 2024, marking an annual increase of 5.3 billion dirhams, which constitutes a growth rate of 4.3%. According to the government's financial data published by the Ministry of Finance on its official website, expenditures were distributed across several items, in addition to employee compensation. Spending on goods and services amounted to 148.15 billion dirhams, thus ranking first in government expenditures for last year. The rest of the government expenditures were distributed over fixed capital consumption, social allowances and grants, interest and financial subsidies, and other expenses. On the revenue side, the tax item ranked first in terms of contribution during the past year, valued at 340.3 billion dirhams, equivalent to 60.4% of total aggregate revenues, compared to 366.3 billion dirhams in 2024, with its value decreasing by 26 billion dirhams, a negative change of 7%. The rest of the revenues came from social contributions, grants, and other revenues.
