Abu Dhabi: The UAE's Minister of Economy and Tourism, Abdullah bin Touq, received a high-level delegation from the Republic of Uzbekistan. The delegation included Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Javkir Abdullayev, Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Laziz Keldiyor, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry, and Tourism Shukhrat Ganiyev, and Deputy Minister of Transport Javlon Vakhabov, along with other Uzbek officials. The meeting was held at the Ministry of Economy and Tourism's headquarters in Dubai. The meeting highlighted the UAE's new packages of facilities and measures. Bin Touq stated that the two countries are bound by growing economic and investment ties. The parties discussed ways to enhance economic and investment relations between the UAE and Uzbekistan, particularly in priority sectors including the new economy, tourism, aviation, financial technology, transport, renewable energy, agriculture, food security, logistics, energy, industry, infrastructure, and banking. This strengthens economic integration and supports the development of sustainable partnerships. Bin Touq emphasized the growing economic and investment relations between the UAE and Uzbekistan, reflecting the commitment of both sides to enhance bilateral cooperation. He mentioned that over 2,300 Uzbek companies are currently operating in the UAE. The meeting marked a new step towards exploring promising economic opportunities and converting them into practical partnerships. The UAE's tourism appeal to Uzbek visitors has grown significantly, with tourist numbers increasing by 25% from 2024 to 2025. The UAE side presented several economic policies and measures to improve the business environment, maintain economic openness, and build fruitful partnerships with key markets regionally and internationally. The meeting also covered new economic packages and initiatives to support the business and investment sectors, including financial liquidity support, easing operational burdens, and enhancing customs facilities.
