Jumeirah, a member of Dubai Holding, has announced a comprehensive and well-considered phased renovation plan for the famous Jumeirah Burj Al Arab to preserve its rich heritage and unique character.
After more than 25 years of continuous operation, this architectural landmark will undergo a renovation that will enhance its identity and historical status, while developing its distinctive interiors according to the highest standards of precision and attention to detail. Since its opening in 1999, Jumeirah Burj Al Arab has cemented its status as an architectural and cultural symbol of modern luxury, its design inspired by a ship's sail having shaped the Dubai skyline.
The renovation program marks a new chapter in the history of Jumeirah Burj Al Arab, aimed at preserving its rich legacy. Today, the hotel is the only property in Jumeirah's portfolio from the selected iconic destinations "Jumeirah Icons," which are distinguished by their unique design and prestigious status.
"Being appointed to the iconic Jumeirah Burj Al Arab renovation program, as the first project of this level in Dubai, means a great deal to me, given the high status and strong presence of this landmark in the region," said Tristan Auer, the interior designer responsible for the renovation program.
Auer is known for his meticulous and precise approach, his work reflects a deep commitment to heritage, craftsmanship, and details, offering a contemporary vision of timeless spaces. Auer is a pioneer of modern interior design on a global scale; he founded his own design studio in Paris in 2002 after developing his professional experience and creative vision alongside two leading figures in the field, Philippe Starck and Christian Liaigre.
Since then, Auer has undertaken projects in some of the world's most exclusive destinations, including private residences, restaurants, hotels, and palaces, among them the Hotel "Le Crillon" in Paris and the renovation project for "Les Bains".
"Jumeirah Burj Al Arab is not just an architectural landmark, but a reflection of ambition, craftsmanship, and a steadfast excellence, continuing for 27 years to offer exceptional hospitality experiences with the same passion and global standards that set it apart," commented on the renovation program Thomas Meyer, CEO of Jumeirah.
